Steps
- Open the browser on your phone and go to the address ending in /play shown on the screen, or scan the QR code. If you're signed in, you can also choose “Live games” in the sidebar.
- Enter the 6-digit PIN, then tap “Continue”. If you scan the QR code, the PIN is filled in for you.
- Check the game title. Type a “Nickname” or tap the dice button “Suggest a name”. If your teacher only allows random names, pick one of the suggested names.
- Tap “Enter the game”, then look at the screen and wait for your teacher to start.
- When a question appears, tap an answer tile. For multiple-answer questions, select all the correct answers, then tap “Submit answer”.
- After each question, your phone shows “Correct!” with your points or “Incorrect”, plus your total score and rank.
Options and limits
- Do I need to sign in?
- No, if your teacher allows guests. If the game is only for one class, tap “Sign in to take part” and use your account in that class. If you're signed in and leave “Display name (optional)” empty, your account name is used.
- Nickname
- Up to 32 characters, with at least one letter or digit. Rude names or names pretending to be a teacher or organizer are rejected. Two names that differ only in accents, like the Vietnamese names “Lan” and “Lân”, count as the same.
- Reloading the page
- Reloading the same tab you're playing in takes you back to the question you were on, with your score unchanged.
- Losing your connection
- Your phone shows “Connection lost, reconnecting…” and reconnects automatically. Your score and answers are kept.
- Opening on another device
- Each player can only play in one place. If you open the game in another tab or on another device, the old one shows “The game is open somewhere else”. Tap “Keep playing here” to continue where you want to play.
Common errors and how to fix them
- “Game not found. The PIN may be wrong or expired.” → check the PIN on the screen again.
- “The teacher locked the room and isn’t accepting new players.” → ask your teacher to unlock the room.
- “This nickname is already taken…” → choose another name; names that differ only in accents also count as taken.
- “This nickname isn't appropriate, please choose another one” → switch to a different name.
- “You’re not a member of the class this game is for.” → sign in with the right account in the class, or ask your teacher to add you to the class.
- “The game is full.” → each game has up to 300 players.
- “You're sending too many requests. Please wait a few minutes and try again.” → you entered a wrong PIN too many times; wait a few minutes.
- Guests (not signed in) who close the tab or tap “Leave game” lose their nickname and current score and can't come back with the same name. Signed-in students can rejoin with the PIN from any device and keep their score.
- Sound is off on phones by default. Tap “Turn on sound” if you want to hear the effects.
