Rubrics
A rubric is made of criteria, and each criterion has several score levels (for example Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Not yet). Rubrics help you grade essay questions and assignments more consistently.

Steps
- Go to “Rubrics” → “Create rubric”. Enter the “Rubric name” and a “General description”, then click “Create & write criteria”. Bút Nghiên fills in 2 sample criteria for you to edit.
- On the “Edit rubric” page: click “Add criterion”, set a name and the “Criterion max points”. Each criterion needs at least 2 levels (click “Add level” to add one). The total is calculated automatically. Click “Save changes”.
- When the rubric is ready, click “Freeze version”: this version is locked so it can be used for grading; later edits become a new version.
- The rubric list has “Edit rubric”, “Archive rubric” and “Delete rubric” buttons.
Options and limits
- What students see
- Students only see the score and level for each criterion once their work has been graded with the rubric.
Common errors and how to fix them
- “A rubric must have at least 1 criterion” or “Each criterion must have at least 2 levels” → add a criterion or level.
- “Points for level … must be between 0 and …” → change the level's points so they don't exceed the criterion's maximum points.
- “Error saving the rubric. It may have been updated in another session.” → reload the page and make your changes again.
- A rubric with a version that's already in use can't be deleted; use “Archive rubric” instead.
- The grading page only shows criterion-based grading when the assignment or question has a rubric attached. The assignment creation page and the exam builder don't have a place to choose a rubric yet.
