Exams limited to one device
When the teacher turns on “Limit to one exam session at a time”, each attempt can only be taken in one tab or on one device at a time.

Steps
- Work in only one tab. If you open the same exam in another tab or on another device, one of them will show “Another exam session is active” or “Exam session is no longer active”.
- If the exam is open in another tab or on your phone: go back to that exact place to continue.
- If you already closed the place where you started: wait about 1 minute for the old session to be released, then reload the page.
- After waiting, click “Try again”, or click “Go to home”.
- While you work, the exam page keeps telling the server that you're still there. When you close the tab, the server needs about 1 minute to notice that the session has stopped — that's why you have to wait before opening the exam somewhere else.
- Once you see the message that the session is no longer active, don't keep choosing answers in that tab; go back to the active tab.
- An exam opened from a link may show “Protected exam: limited to 1 device at a time.”
